Traveling Light and In-Law Blessings

Yesterday was a tough tempo day of 1 mile warm up, followed by 6 miles of flat out hard effort, and then a 1 mile cool down. My body was mad at me when we finished and so we took a 100% rest day today. Plus, we have a bit to catch up on as it pertains to the work/real life front. My mood always falters a bit when my injuries flare up, so I will keep this brief and hopefully return tomorrow with more cheer.

Our flight home was on time, which is super awesome. We only had about 15 minutes to wait once we got through security, so Todd had to wolf down this homemade wrap the size of his head.

It included delicious leftover fried chicken, corn, lima beans, salsa, and cheese, all of which we handcrafted with this chick on our last night of Sanibel fun.

Also, can you believe we packed for the full 11 days in these two backpacks?!?

Well, you probably can because you may have noticed that we have been repeating outfits a few times throughout our vacation posts.

We are super cheap about spending money on silly things like bags and the airline we fly charges for ANY carry-ons besides your personal item, so we make due. Plus, what do you really need in life on the island besides your running shoes and some shorts and tech t’s anyway?

We had such a cool time on the islands. We want to give a big shout out to these lovely people for their hospitality. My in-laws = true blessing straight from God.

Now, back to work for us so that we can make $$$ and go on more fun running adventures!

Do you pack lightly or over pack on vacations?

Do you bring your own food to the airport or do you indulge in the pricey airport fare?

  1. Sounds like a lovely trip! I definitely pack lightly. I went to Spain for a week last summer and only brought a backpack. That’s usually my go to travel bag. But I am terrible at the whole food at airport thing and always eat there. But then again, I have a bad habit of eating out a lot and I really need to work that.

    1. It was a wonderful trip. We love it down there. Todd and I do not typically eat out and are used to putting together meals for on the go. Thank you for the comment.
